Body

Overview

This article will outline how to scan and score tests using the Remark Office OMR software.

Use Case / Overview

The Remark Office OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) software will scan and score tests using the bubble answer sheets that can be downloaded and printed from this article.
The physical test scanner is located at the Service Desk and will have instructions on how to properly scan your test answers at the time of grading.
Instead of getting bubble answer sheets forms from the Service Desk, users can now print their own answer sheets within their own department.

There are 2 styles of answer sheets; 100 answers (single sided) or 300 answers (double sided).
Print the desired answer sheet to give to your students for the test. The duplication of these answer sheets can be performed on any printer located on campus.

Please Note:  When using the 300 question test answer sheet, be sure to print/copy your answer sheets double-sided and set to flip on short side.
A properly printed 300 question answer sheet will look like the following (Click image to enlarge):

Below is the general instructions after you have perform the test with your students.

Scanning Instructions (after test completion)

Overview:
These instructions will walk you through the following general procedure for grading your test.
Further instructions can be found on the instruction sheet in this article as well as at the self-service grading station in the Service Desk:

  • Scanning your student’s answer sheets on the Konica Minolta MFP (located at Service Desk) with all the proper options for the scanning grading session.
  • The scanned files will then be automatically sent to marking system to perform the actual marking and analysis of the scanned test.
  • Once on the marking system, you will be allowed to make corrections of the scanned tests for mistakes or answers the marking system cannot determine correctly.
  • The marking system will grade your test and then generate a standard report that can be printed on the Service Desk copier. Other reports are available.
  • The marking system will then delete your scanned files from the computer as a cleanup measure
