Overview

How to: Connect newer MacBooks and MacBook Air(s) to the data projectors in the classrooms

Before you begin. Check your OS version by selecting the Apple symbol in the top, left corner and then click on "About This Mac".  This article may be applicable to you if your MacOS is (Sequoia) 15.2.0 or later.

Instructions 

When you connect the HDMI cable into your Macbook via the display adapter, you will be prompted with a screen to select your output method of your MacBook.

Select the following:

  • "Entire Screen" to duplicate what is on your MacBook's display on the data projector.
  • "Windows or App" to display only the content of a currently open application from your computer. 
  • "Extended" to expand your working environment to two separate displays.

These options can be revisited by selecting the dual screens found in your MacBook's dock.

Click on "Choose Content".

Select the one of the three options you wish to use as earlier described.
