User Guide: Connecting to an OWL Videoconferencing System

1. Set Up the OWL Device

  1. Place the OWL in the center of the meeting table for optimal audio and video capture.
  2. Plug in the power cable and turn on the OWL (it will take a moment to start up).
  3. Connect the OWL to your computer via USB.

2. Select the OWL as Your Camera & Microphone

  1. Open your preferred video conferencing software (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, etc.).
  2. Go to the settings and select:
    • Camera → Choose "Meeting Owl"
    • Microphone → Choose "Meeting Owl"
    • Speaker (Optional) → Choose "Meeting Owl" for audio output

3. Start Your Meeting

  1. Join or start a video call as usual.
  2. The OWL will automatically track and focus on whoever is speaking.
  3. If needed, adjust settings using the Meeting Owl app (available for mobile and desktop).

4. Troubleshooting

  • If the OWL is not detected, unplug and reconnect the USB cable.
  • Check that the OWL is selected as the camera and microphone in your video app.
  • Restart the OWL by unplugging it for 10 seconds and plugging it back in.
