HDCP and Copy Protection

Purchased digital content from iTunes (or other retailers) may not display video in the classroom. You may also be presented with an alert referring to HDCP. If this happens you will need to connect your computer with a HDMI cable rather than using the supplied VGA cable.

High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) is a form of digital copy protection developed by Intel Corporation to prevent copying of digital audio and video content as it travels across connections. Not all classrooms have a HDMI connection so please contact the Service Desk for a list of rooms that will work for you. Also if your laptop does not have a HDMI output your can borrow an adapter from the Technology Services, Service Desk located in the BAC.
