How do I keep my scholarship? 🔹 What do I need to do to keep my scholarship? 🔹 How high does my GPA have to be to renew my funding? 🔹 Can I still get my scholarship if I take fewer courses?

Summary

Find out how to maintain your renewable scholarship at Acadia, including course load requirements, GPA thresholds by scholarship type, and what to do if your academic standing changes.

Body

If you were awarded a renewable scholarship, it means you may be able to receive that same funding each year—for up to four years or until you finish your first undergraduate degree (whichever comes first).

To keep your renewable scholarship, you must:

  1. Stay full-time
You need to register in at least 24 credit hours between September and April (usually 4–5 courses each term).

    • If you need to take fewer courses, you must ask your Dean for permission to keep your scholarship with a reduced course load.

    • You must still be considered a full-time student (normally at least 9 credit hours per term).

  2. Meet the academic requirements for your specific scholarship
Each scholarship has its own GPA (grade) requirements. You must meet the required sessional GPA each year to have your scholarship renewed.
