Overview

  • How to: set up a wireless connection on your Mac computer while on the Acadia campus
  • Task: brief description of the task to be completed. For example,
    • By following these instructions, you’ll be able to connect to the Acadia or Eduroam network on your Mac Computer
  • Prerequisites (if applicable): You must have valid Acadia credentials (Username and password) to connect to these networks. 

Instructions 

  1. Click on the wireless icon in the top right of your computer 
  2. Select the Acadia network from the drop down list
  3. In the Username field, enter your Acadia username.
    • Faculty/staff = Your username is typically the first initial of your first name and up to the first 6 letters of your last name
    • Students = Everything before the @ symbol in your email address. Ex. 012345c
  4. In the Password field, enter your network password.  This is the same password for accessing My Acadia, Moodle, and your email.
  5. Click Join
    • If it asks to trust the certificate, click on Continue
    • If it asks for your Mac password, enter it

Outcome 

By completing the steps above, your computer will be connected to the Acadia network. This will allow you to use the Internet, network printing and any other internal network resources that you are permitted to use.
