This article provides instructions on how to update or add additional, alternate of back up methods of contact for Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and Password Reset (SSPR).

Overview

The Microsoft Authenticator smartphone app is the preferred method for MFA and SSPR. However, you will need a second method at minimum as a backup method.  You can choose other apps such as the authenticator app from Google, LastPass or other valid providers offered through the Apple or Google Play store.
