Acadia offers several ways to pay your tuition and fees. Choose the method that works best for you—but make sure your payment is received by the due date to avoid late fees.
💻 Online Banking (Recommended)
The fastest, easiest, and most secure way to pay is through your Canadian bank’s online banking system.
Steps:
- Log in to your online banking.
- Select “Pay a Bill.”
- Add a new payee: Acadia University
- Your "Account Number" will be one of three options:
- 7-digit ID preceded by 2 additional zeroes
- 9-digit Application Reference ID
- 9-digit ID typically starting with "100...", "1000...", or "000...". These are historical ID numbers issued prior to August 2022.
- Select your account that you wish to pay from and input the amount
Accepted banks: TD, Scotiabank, BMO, CIBC, RBC, National Bank, and Credit Unions.
⏱️ Bank payments may take 1–3 business days to appear on your student account.
🏦 In-Person Payments
You can pay at the Student Accounts Office using:
- Cash (CAD or USD)
- Cheque, money order, or bank draft (payable to Acadia University)
- Debit card (Canadian only; international debit cards not accepted)
📍 A payment drop box is also available in the hallway outside the office.
✉️ Mail
Mail a cheque to:
Acadia University – Student Accounts
Box 9, 15 University Avenue
Wolfville, NS B4P 2R6
📌 Include your student ID number on the cheque.
📬 Send early to ensure it arrives by the due date.
🚫 Not Accepted
- Interac e-Transfers / Email Money Transfers (EMT)
These will be rejected and not processed.
- Credit Cards
❗ NSF (Non-Sufficient Funds) Cheques
- A $35 fee will be charged for returned cheques.
- Your account will be considered unpaid.
- If the cheque was for tuition, your registration may be cancelled.
- You’ll be contacted and must repay within 72 business hours.
- Only certified cheques will be accepted for repayment.
📘 Helpful Definitions
- NSF cheque: A cheque that bounces due to insufficient funds.
- Certified cheque: A cheque guaranteed by the bank to have sufficient funds.
- Student account: Your financial account at Acadia, which includes tuition, residence, and other fees.

- If you're paying your admission deposit, email a copy of your payment confirmation to student.accounts@acadiau.ca so it can be applied correctly.
