No — the Writing Centre does not accept requests for specific tutors.
Here’s why:
-
All tutors are trained and carefully selected, so you’ll get high-quality support no matter who you work with
-
Working with different tutors helps you develop independent writing skills
-
Each tutor brings a unique perspective and teaching style, which can help you grow as a writer in different ways
It’s totally normal to feel more comfortable with one tutor, especially if you had a great session. But relying on just one person can make it harder to build confidence in your own writing. The Writing Centre’s goal is to help you become a stronger, more independent writer — and that means learning from a variety of voices.
📘 Helpful Definitions:

-
Writing independence: The ability to revise and improve your writing without relying on someone else to fix it
