What happens with my scholarship while I am on a co-op term?💠 Do I still get my scholarship while on Co-op? 💠 What happens to my funding if I’m working instead of taking classes? 💠 Will my scholarship be paused during a Co-op term?

If you're doing a Co-op work placement during the fall and/or winter term, you can still keep your Acadia scholarship or award during that time.

For renewable scholarships, the Scholarships & Financial Aid Office will work directly with the Co-op Office to decide if you still meet the renewal requirements. They will look at:

  • Your grade for the Co-op work term, and

  • Whether you're meeting the academic and program requirements outlined in the scholarship terms and conditions.

👉 Just like any other student, renewable awards are available for up to four years or until you graduate - whichever comes first.

Helpful Definitions

  • Co-op Work Term – A paid, full-time work experience that counts toward your degree.

  • Renewable Scholarship – A scholarship you can receive again each year if you meet certain requirements.

  • Academic Term – A study period like fall (September–December) or winter (January–April).

Special Notes

  • If you're planning to take a Co-op term, it's a good idea to talk to both the Co-op Office and the Scholarships & Financial Aid Office in advance.

  • You’re still eligible for scholarship renewal as long as you meet the conditions - even while working off-campus during a Co-op term.
