If you’re going on a study abroad term through a direct exchange program - where you still pay your tuition to Acadia - you can keep your scholarship while you're away.
Here’s how it works:

Your scholarship is applied to your Acadia student account just like normal:

Half in September

Half in January

After your exchange semester is over, the university you studied at will send a transcript (your grades) to Acadia.

Once Acadia receives your transcript, the Scholarships & Financial Aid Office will check if you’ve met the academic requirements to renew your scholarship for the next year.
👉 You’ll be notified by email during the summer about whether your scholarship will be renewed.
Helpful Definitions

Study Abroad Term – A semester or year where you study at a university in another country through an official exchange program.

Transcript – An official record of your grades from the university you attended abroad.

Renewable Scholarship – A scholarship you can keep receiving each year, if you meet certain academic requirements.

Scholarships are only maintained during direct exchanges where you continue to pay your tuition to Acadia.

Your scholarship renewal depends on receiving and assessing your grades from your exchange term, so make sure the university abroad sends your transcript on time.
