Yes! You can have a guest in residence, as long as you follow the guest rules. These rules help make sure everyone in residence feels safe and comfortable.


✅ Guest Rules

  1. Sign In Your Guest

    • All guests (whether they’re Acadia students or not) must be signed in before 8:00 PM on the night they’re staying.
    • Use the Residence Portal to sign them in.
  2. Ask Your Roommate First

    • You must get permission from your roommate or suitemate(s) at least 2 days before your guest arrives.
  3. One Guest Per Night

    • You can only host one overnight guest per night.
  4. Staying More Than 3 Nights?

    • If your guest is staying for more than 3 nights in a row, you must get approval from Residence Life.
  5. Guests Under 18

    • If your guest is under 18 and not an Acadia student, you must give their emergency contact info (parent or guardian) to your Resident Assistant (RA).
  6. Sleeping Arrangements

    • Guests must sleep in your room only—not in common areas or someone else’s room.
