I am a sponsored student. What do I need to do to arrange payment?🔹 What do I need to do if someone else is paying my tuition? 🔹 How do I set up billing if I’m a sponsored student?

If an organization (like a government agency, Indigenous band, or employer) is paying your tuition and fees, you are considered a sponsored student. There are a few steps you and your sponsor must follow each year.

📝 What You Need to Do

  1. Ask your sponsor to complete the Third-Party Billing Form.
  2. Email a scanned copy of the completed form to:
    📧 student.accounts@acadiau.ca
  3. Make sure the form is submitted before the start of the term.
  4. A new form must be submitted each academic year.

💵 How Billing Works

  • Student Accounts will invoice your sponsor:
    • In October for the Fall term
    • In February for the Winter term
  • You are responsible for paying any fees not covered by your sponsor by the payment due date.

📘 Helpful Definitions

  • Sponsored student: A student whose tuition and/or fees are paid by a third party (not the student or their family).
  • Third-Party Billing Form: A form that gives Acadia permission to invoice your sponsor directly for your fees.

📝 Special Notes

  • Even if you’re sponsored, it’s your responsibility to make sure your account is paid in full.
  • Keep a copy of the completed form and any communication with your sponsor for your records.
