What health and dental plans are available through the Acadia Students' Union (ASU)? 🔹 What kind of health insurance do I have as an Acadia student? 🔹 Is there a dental plan for international students? 🔹 How do I get health benefits through the university?

The Acadia Students’ Union (ASU) provides two separate plans to ensure students have access to comprehensive health coverage.

For domestic (Canadian) students: The Health & Dental Plan is automatically provided to full-time domestic students. This plan is designed to supplement your provincial health care, covering expenses like:

  • Prescription drugs

  • Dental services

  • Vision care

  • Mental health services (e.g., psychologists, counsellors)

For international students: The Medical & Dental Plan is provided to all full-time international students. This plan is your primary health coverage and includes a wide range of benefits, such as:

  • Doctor visits and hospital stays

  • Emergency medical services

  • Prescription drugs

  • Dental services

For more specific details on coverage, how to make a claim, or to add dependents, you can find a comprehensive breakdown on the ASU Supports page of the ASU website
