Your Co-op work terms are scheduled based on when you enter the program — and you’ll work with a Co-op Coordinator to make sure the timing fits your degree and goals.

Here’s a general guide:

🎓 If you join Co-op at the beginning of second year:

• 🗓️ Your first work term will usually be in the summer after second year

🎓 If you join Co-op at the beginning of third year:

• 🗓️ Your first work term may be in the winter of third year OR

• 🗓️ The summer after third year

You’ll meet with a Co-op Coordinator to plan your timeline, choose work terms that fit your academic schedule, and explore opportunities that match your interests.

📘 Helpful Definitions:

• Work term: A 4-month paid job placement related to your field of study

• Co-op Coordinator: A CEL staff member who helps you plan and manage your Co-op experience

• Winter term: Typically January to April; Summer term: May to August
