Overview

Use the Microsoft Outlook app to access your Acadia email and calendar on an Android device.

Requirements:

• An active Acadia email account.

• Android 10 or later.

• An internet connection via WiFi or Cell networks.

Your screens may look different: Button names and menus vary by device and Outlook version. These instructions apply to Microsoft Outlook, rather than Gmail, Samsung Email, or another email app. Look for options with similar names if the wording differs.

Instructions

1. Install Outlook

Open the Google Play Store, search for Microsoft Outlook, and install the app published by Microsoft Corporation.

If Outlook is already installed, check for updates before continuing.

2. Add your Acadia account

1. Open Outlook. Tap Get Started if shown, then Add Account.

2. Enter your full Acadia email address:

   • Faculty and staff, including retirees: firstname.lastname@acadiau.ca

   • Students, including alumni and graduate students: username@acadiau.ca—for example, 1234567b@acadiau.ca

3. Tap Continue or Add Account, depending on your screen.

4. Follow the prompts to sign in with your Acadia password.

5. Complete multifactor authentication (MFA) or register security information if requested.

6. Skip adding another account unless you want to set up additional email accounts.

If Outlook suggests a different account: Select Skip or Skip this account, then enter your Acadia email address.

If you already use Outlook

1. Open Outlook and tap your account icon or menu at the top left.

2. Tap Settings (the gear icon).

3. Select Accounts → Add Account → Add an email account. Some versions show Add Account directly in Settings.

4. Enter your Acadia email address and follow the sign-in prompts.

If setup does not work

• Check that you can access a website using your internet connection.

• Confirm that you entered your full Acadia email address.

• If asked to choose an account type, select Microsoft 365 or Office 365.

• If asked for a server or domain, or if an error persists, contact the Service Desk for assistance.

• Additional verification or security prompts do not necessarily mean something has gone wrong. If you are unsure what a prompt requires, ask the Service Desk.

Outcome

Your Acadia email and calendar are available in the Outlook app.
