🔹 What happens to my coverage after graduation 🔹 Am I still insured once I finish my degree 🔹 When does my student health plan expire 🔹 How do I get insurance after leaving Acadia

Your student health and dental coverage continues until August 31 of your graduation year — whether you finish in April, May, or later in the summer. After that date:

  • 🛑 Your ASU Medical and Dental Plan ends

  • 🧾 You’ll need to transition to alternative coverage, such as provincial health care or private insurance

  • 🌍 International graduates who don’t yet qualify for provincial coverage can apply for the International Alumni Emergency Medical Plan

  • 🩺 If you do have provincial coverage, you may be eligible for the Supplemental Alumni Health and Dental Plan, which includes:

    • Prescription medications

    • Paramedical services (e.g. massage, physio, chiropractic)

    • Vision and dental care

    • Travel coverage

Tip: Don’t wait until September to sort this out — reach out to the ASU Supports Office before your coverage ends to avoid any gaps.
