The Food Processor

Overview

The Food Processor is a nutritional analysis program that calculates calories and activity levels for weight gain, loss, and dietary needs. This technology can build recipes to view nutrient values, export data and build reports, access Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) guidelines for foods used in the analysis, create scenarios, build an exercise program, and calculate Metabolic Equivalent of Tasks (METs).

Pre-Installation Notes

There is no MacOS version of The Food Processor.  If you have a Mac, you will need to install Windows on in via BootCamp. Click here for instructions to install BootCamp.
Do not run the installation files directly from Sharepoint! You will need to download the FoodPro files onto your computer and place them in the location you would like to install FoodPro.
If you are installing and using FoodPro from off-campus, it is required that you use the Acadia VPN.  *Click here for instructions to install and use the Acadia VPN*
Your installation of The Food Processor should be deactivated when no longer needed.

 

Where to Download

  1. Go to the Acadia Virtual File Repository (VFR).
  2. Choose your respective version of FoodPro (Student, Faculty)
  3. Click on the "FoodPro-Installer.zip"
  4. Then click "Download" at the top of the window. 

Please note: the installer files can very large and can take a long time to download; depending on your Internet speed.
 

Windows Installation

  1. If you are off-campus then you must connect to the Acadia VPN before starting the installation.
  2. Go to your Downloads folder and click the "FoodPro-Installer.zip" file to open it.
  3.  You may need to extract it. Click "Extract all" at the top of the window.
  4. After you have unzipped the folder, you will have another folder named "FoodPro-Installer" in your Downloads folder.
  5. Inside that folder you should see a folder called "bin" and a file named "FoodPro11-14.cmd".
  6. Right click the "FoodPro11-14.cmd" file and choose "Run as Administrator" to start the installation of The Food Processor.
  7. A window may pop up trying to block the install, choose "More Info" then "Run Anyway".
  8. A black console window with yellow text will open to start the installation.
  9. This step is automated and you do not need to do anything. It may take anywhere from 5 to 30+ minutes to complete, please be patient to not do anything on your computer until the black window says "Setup Complete!  Press any key to continue...". You can then press any key on your keyboard and the black window will close. 

  1. The Food Processor will be available in your Start menu in the "ESHA" folder.
  2. You can now delete all the installation files/folders from your Downloads folder that were used to install FoodPro.

 

Deactivation

  1. Open The Food Processor.
  2. On the Home tab of the ribbon, click About.
  3. Click on the "Deactivate" link. The deactivate button will be replaced with "(Not Activated)".
  4. Close the About dialog.
  5. Exit The Food Processor.
  6. Go to Start, Settings, Apps, Installed Apps to uninstall it.

After deactivation, if you use any other function in The Food Processor, or if you close & re-open The Food Processor, this installation will re-Activate.
