Overview
This article provides some instructions for setting up your Office 365 email in your Android device.
Due to differences in the various Android versions and any customization made my manufactures or users, this article may not match your phone exactly.
System Requirements:
- Outlook for Android on tablets and phones is only supported on Android versions 10.0 or higher. Users on Android 9.x and below will need to upgrade to Android 10 or higher in order to continue receiving updates.
- Self Service Password Reset (SSPR) authentication methods and prompts may be required. More information regarding SSPR is available: What is Self Service Password (SSPR) Reset.
- The Android built in Mail app often does not work with Office 365 accounts. Please download the Microsoft Outlook app from the Play Store and follow the instructions in this article to set it up.
Instructions
1. Download the Microsoft Outlook App from the Play Store.
2. Enter the following settings:
Your username:
- Faculty and Staff (including Retirees): firstname.lastname@acadiau.ca
- Students (including Alumni and Graduate): username@acadiau.ca
Additional Information that may be required:
Type of account: preferably Office 365, Exchange or ActiveSync if that isn't an option
Server: outlook.office365.com
Website: https://office365.acadiau.ca

3. If you are prompted for additional information, there may be other issues in play, for example:
- Not properly connected to the Internet, and/or
- a Timeout has occurred while configuring the account.
If you received additional prompts, confirm your Internet connection and setup your account again.
Outcome
You can now access and obtain your Acadia email on your Android device.
