What is the System Status Portal

Overview

At any time, you can see the status of a Technology System or Service.

This article provides a summary of:

  2. How to check services and maintenance calendar.

System Portal Highlights

  • View the status of technology services provided on campus.
  • Subscribe to receive email, text or Teams notifications regarding outages, updates and resolutions.
  • Subscribe to notifications for as few or as many services as you like.  For example, subscribe to WiFi /network, but not Colleague, notifications.
  • View status updates from purchased services, such as Microsoft Office.

Check Services and Maintenance Calendar 

You can see the status of a Service or System or see whether maintenance has been scheduled by going to the Status Portal.

The Portal contains 5 parts:

  1. Legend: an overview of the graphics used to share status
  2. Current Status: a quick snapshot of current status of systems
  3. Calendar: monthly calendar of scheduled maintenance or service disruptions
  4. History Grid: a weekly view of systems and their status. At any time you can hover your mouse over a symbol to receive incident information. 
  5. Incidents: Weekly list of incidents, either maintenance or service disruptions

Opt-In for Statuscast Notifications

As an Acadia stakeholder, you can enrol to receive either email or text notifications about Services that are pertinent to you. You can receive a notification for every service or just specific services. For example, as a student living in residence, you may want to receive a notification for Residence WiFi, MOODLE and Microsoft services, but are not concerned about the Colleague Financial System. 

  1. Navigate to the Acadia Status Portal. https://acadiau.status.page/
  2. In the top right hand corner, select Subscribe.
  3. Enter your email address and mobile phone number.
  4. Select Create a Subscriber Accounts?
  5. Check your email and follow the link to manage your subscriptions. 
  6. Retain this email.  You can use the manage link within it to manage your subscriptions. 
  7. By default, you will be subscribed to all components.  You can select which components for which you wish to receive notifications. 

Opt-in for Teams Notifications 

All notifications from Technology Services will also be sent to a Teams: Technology Services Announcements.

To receive these notifications, join the Team, available by searching publicly or using the Join Code x56ywx4.

  1. Click Teams Teams button on the left side of the app, then click Join or create a team, depending on your view at the bottom left or top right of your Teams list. 

  2. Go to Join a team with a code (the second tile), paste the code x56ywx4 in the Enter code box, and click Join.
