Using OneDrive or Office App to Scan and Sign Documents

You can scan documents, business cards, or whiteboards using your mobile OneDrive app. This feature allows you to scan a several page document and automatically save it to your OneDrive  or files for later use.  It's like having a scanner in your pocket. Capture the whiteboard, documents and more. You can even sign documents directly on your phone.

One Drive App

Setup:

  1. Download and install the Microsoft OneDrive  on your iPhone, iPad, or Android device from the appropriate App Store. 
  2. Open the app
  3. Log in using your Acadia email address and network password
  4. Give it the necessary permission to access your photos and camera.

Use:

  1. Aim your device's camera at the printed document you wish to scan.
  2. Turn the flash on or off, or set to automatic. 
  3. Choose the format that best matches the item you're scanning--whiteboard, document, business card, or photo.
  4. Position your device so the border frames it and then snap the picture.  Add pages as required.
  5. Press Done, when complete.
  6. Save the file to the appropriate location.

The Office App

  • Identifies printed text with optical character recognition (OCR) so that you can search by key word for the image in OneNote or OneDrive.
  • Converts images of paper documents and whiteboard notes into Word documents, PowerPoint presentations and PDF files for easy editing and reformatting (see more details here).

  • Inserts images to OneNote or OneDrive (as DOCX, PPTX, JPG or PDF format) and gives you options to save, export and share the image.
