How to set up Eduroam

Overview

Eduroam (education roaming) is a WiFi (wireless) service.  It provides the same access, use and security for students, staff, and faculty whether at Acadia or at a member global institution. Users can use Acadia's email and password to access this WiFi around the world.  

Note: Eduroam should be set up prior to any travel.

Acadia Clients 

Go to https://cat.eduroam.org/ and follow the instructions to download the appropriate installer for your device. 

If you experience issues while attempting to access eduroam wireless service at another institution, contact Acadia University’s Technology Services – Service Desk for assistance. 

Visitor Setup 

  • You need to be setup for Eduroam at your own institution prior to visiting Acadia University.
  • Our implementation of eduroam utilizes WPA2/AES.
  • Please contact your home institution to obtain setup instructions particular to your institution.
  • Note that the Acadia Technology Services Computing Policy applies to guest users.

Restrictions of eduroam

  • Any network restrictions are at the discretion of the institution providing the service.
  • There is no guarantee that eduroam will provide the same access to resources as the home or visited institution’s WiFi network.
