Manage and Install Office 365


Microsoft 365 Apps ensures you have access to the latest features and capabilities with always up-to-date versions of Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and more.

You can install the Microsoft Office suite onto 5 different devices. The Microsoft Advantage program allows eligible faculty, staff, and students to download and install the latest Microsoft Office software on up to five computers at no cost. This includes full versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and other titles. Microsoft Office is available for both Windows and Mac computers as well as through the Microsoft app on your Apple or Android device.


A valid Acadia University email address is required. 

This offer is only available to current students, faculty and staff. 

Install Office 365

Please note: It is strongly recommended to uninstall previous versions of Office before attempting to upgrade your version of Office. Assistance in uninstalling Office can be found at the following support article from Microsoft. 

1.  Please visit the Office 365 portal site: You can sign in with your email address and regular Acadia password.

2.  Once you are logged in, the system will automatically recognize what operating system you are running and give you the choice of downloading the version of apps that best work on your system.  Click on the Install Now button and follow the prompts until it is fully installed. Repeat this on up to 5 devices

Sign in information:
For Students: Use your student email address.
For Faculty and Staff: Use your email address.
For Graduate Studies Students: Use your student email address, unless you opted to use your graduate email alias to also send email, in which case your username would then be your alias,

Manage your Installations

With Office 365, employees have access to install the apps on five (5) different machines.  If you get a new device (or have reloaded) and want to re-use a license, you can manage what devices and licenses by logging into the Office 365 portal.  

Once you are logged in, click on the cog on the top right corner, slide down to "Office 365"; then on the left side click on "Install status".  You can deactivate any installs from the list to regain your 5 installs back again.
