The options you see may vary depending on your account and PaperCut permissions.
Summary
The Summary page provides an overview of your PaperCut account and printing activity.
Depending on the information available for your account, it may include:
- Number of print jobs.
- Number of pages printed.
- Account or printing information.
- Environmental impact information.
Select Environmental Dashboard if you want to review the additional environmental information calculated from your printing activity.
Transaction History
Transaction History provides information about transactions recorded against your PaperCut account.
For students, this may include printing transactions and their associated costs. The original documentation states that student printing costs are transferred to the student's account at the end of each month and that the PaperCut balance is then reset.
Recent Print Jobs
Use Recent Print Jobs to review recent activity recorded by PaperCut.
The history may show information such as:
- Printing.
- Scanning.
- Copying.
- Cost.
- Job status.
The status can help determine whether a job was successfully printed, denied, cancelled, scanned, or otherwise processed.
This is a useful first place to check if you submitted a print job but are unsure what happened to it.
Jobs Pending Release
Use Jobs Pending Release to see print jobs that have been submitted but are still waiting to be released.
From this section, you can review a pending job and, where the available options permit:
- Release the job for printing.
- Cancel a job you no longer need.
Before releasing a job, confirm that you have selected the intended document and printing options.
Printing Help
The Printing Help option provides access to additional Acadia Technology Services information about printing and scanning.
Use the HUB printing resources when you need instructions for configuring a printer, using campus printing services, or troubleshooting a printing problem.
Confirm your access
After signing in, confirm that you can:
- Open the Summary page.
- View your recent printing activity.
- Open Jobs Pending Release, if you have submitted a job awaiting release.
- Access the available printing help resources.
You have successfully accessed PaperCut if your account opens and your available printing information is displayed.
Troubleshooting
| Problem |
What to check |
| I cannot sign in to PaperCut |
Confirm that you are using your current Acadia username and password. Test your account with another Acadia service to determine whether the problem is specific to PaperCut. |
| PaperCut stopped accepting my password after I changed it |
Make sure you are using your new Acadia password. Close and reopen PaperCut before trying again. |
| I submitted a print job but it has not printed |
Check Recent Print Jobs for its status and Jobs Pending Release to see whether the document is waiting to be released. |
| I submitted the wrong document |
Check Jobs Pending Release. If the job has not yet been released and a cancellation option is available, cancel it rather than printing it. |
| I cannot see the same menu options shown in this article |
Available PaperCut options may depend on your account and permissions. Sign out and make sure you are using the correct Acadia account. |
| My printing history shows a job was denied |
Review the job information for any available status or account details. If the reason is unclear, contact the Service Desk and provide the approximate date, time, printer, and document name. |
Outcome
You can sign in to PaperCut, review your printing activity, check the status of recent jobs, and manage jobs waiting to be released.
For problems involving printer installation, Secure Print, card registration, or other campus printing services, use the appropriate printing article in the HUB.
