How to set up a wireless connection - Microsoft Windows

​A valid Acadia network account is required to connect to campus wifi. One of the following installs will allow you to connect:

Standard Install

  • Click on the wireless/network icon in your system tray (bottom right corner). It may look something like this:

  • You should see a network listed called Acadia
  • Either double-click on it or click once and select Connect
  • Enter your Acadia username and password when prompted
  • If another message appears asking to "Continue/Cancel" or "Connect/Terminate", choose either Continue or Connect
  • You should now be connected to the Acadia network

 

Configure Acadia wireless using manual instructions

  • Go to the Start Menu (Windows logo)
  • Click on Control Panel
  • Click on Network and Sharing Center
  • Click on Manage Wireless Networks on the upper left
  • In Manage Wireless networks click Add

  • Click Manually create a network profile:

  • Name the connection Acadia.
  • Select WPA2-Enterprise and AES encryption:

  • Change connection settings:

  • Go to the Security tab and select Settings
  • Uncheck validate server certificate
  • Click on Configure on the same screen:

  • Uncheck Automatically use my Windows logon name and password (and domain if any).
  • Press OK and close all dialog boxes.
  • You will likely see a pop up asking for additional information, click on it to continue.
  • Fill in the username and password with your network credentials. The domain field can be left blank.
